Honeymoon Part 1

St. Lucia
This place is unbelievable, it is truly a paradise that is still undiscovered. Peter has been many places thuough out the world and he still described St. Lucia as one of themost magical places he has visited. Monica was a litle scared when she first realized that their hotel was located right in the middle of the two massive volcano mountains known as the Pitons but after arriving the island culture took over and all worries melted away. This is a place that is a MUST visit! The people are so friendly and genuine. The motto of the island is "No pressure, no problem" and that's exactly how you will feel. Everyone smiles and rends you to enjoy the beautiful day.

We got to experience all parts of the island. We first started by going on a car ride along the mountains to the west side of the island, where our first hotel and the HUGE Pitons were located. It took us about 1.5 hours and Monica was so good at not feeling carsick! We arrived to Ladera Resort, no other words than paradise! Please enjoy picks of our hotel room and room view. The hotel's motto is a view with a room, and they truly mean it. Every room has only three walls and you are in the middle of the rainforest with The Pitons as your witnesses and the beach down below. Really we cannot stress enough how that view simply leaves you breathless. Just to warn all you future St. Lucia visitors, the room is completely open, so no air conditioer and lots of little bug friends at night, but even Monica, who hates flying critters and bugs, was just delighted and never complained.

The moral of this story: If you go to St. Lucia, you must go see the Pitons!!!

A broom and the salt bottle

So we finally moved this weekend! How is it that we still have so much crap??? The move is really what inspired this blog story. I've been with Monica for some years now and during those years, we have had MANY moves, so I still don't now how Monica's superstitious "Colombian" beliefs still amuse me! According to Monica's family, when one moves, they leave behind the old broom and the bottle of salt. The reason is because you leave the bad luck from the old home (symbolized by the broom and salt bottle) and you buy new ones representing the good luck that will come in the new home. The funny part is that I can probably write a book regarding Monica and her family's superstitions (spiders, flies, pearls, dolls, glass breaking, the list goes on and on, but those other stories will be for future blogs). For now let's focus on the broom and the salt. It was our first night in the new place, monIca and I decided to grill out in celebration for a ha...

An apple a day ....

So for those who actually come here and get updates about our crazy life I must start this blog by apologizing for the lack of stories. It is all Pete's fault!!! If he had not convinced me into buying an awful apple computer, there would be a phethera of stories posted but the awful computer first started acting slow and I do not have much patience so after waiting for what I consider an acceptable amount of time without success I would become frustrated and walk away. This happened several times and the result was me giving peter a dissertation (and a hard time) about the whole awful computer! So time passed by and finally the awful computer decided to prolong my misery and stop functioning entirely which left me with access to the web only via my iPhone. Blogging on the iPhone is no fun and The awful computer Is still nonfunctional laying On The floor somewhere out Of my sight in The guest bedroom! So in summary no blogs all because Of Pete and his charasmatic persuasión abilit...
