Well throughout the entire wedding week and honeymoon, Peter would let everyone know that we were either the bride and groom, or that we were "just married" ,in hopes of getting upgrades. Peter was successfull for the majority of the time, but when we got to the "Sandals" resort everything changed after about 5 seconds of arriving. The reason we no longer obtained any upgrades was because about 90% of those staying in the Sandals resort had just been married on May 15 and were also on the honeymoon, so no more upgrades for us. hahaha
Sandals was so much fun! It was full of young, vibrant couples, who were ready to have some fun. There are 3 sandal properties on the island: The regency, the grande and the alycon. If you ever visit St. Lucia's Sandals resort, we would definetely recommend staying at the Regency. DO NOT stay at the Alycon (It sucked!).
A few short stories about our time at Sandals
1. We met a few couples that week, but our favorite couple was "The Beershanks".....YES, that was his last name and yes she was taking it. They were very fun and after many flaming doctor peppers and soco and limes shots, we were the best of friends LOL!. Pictures of this event will not be posted!
2. We had a couples "West Indies" massage that lasted 90 minutes. The massage was the best either of us had ever had, but the only thing that was funny was that they would spray your face with water , which they called a "mist"and rub your feet with sand. They said it was to make you experience all the aspects of the island...ok I guess, but if you have ever seen Peter's feet you will understand why the whole feet rubbing part is funny. All we both thought about during that part was "hmmm I wonder what they think of my/Peter's feet"
3. Monica was so excited about the swim up bar, however, Peter had to ruin it for her and tell her to watch the people sitting in the swim up bar. When Monica asked why would I do that? He answered with a smirk, "Have you noticed those people are just downing drinks and don't ever seem to leave the area to go to the bathroom". That did it for swim up bars...or at least when they are crowded with people! Peter says "Swim up bars are like buffets, you want to be the first one there". That did it for buffets as well!
4. There was a "mobile bar" at the resort. A moving cart that would go around the beach and pool area serving guests their facorite beverage, we of course thought it was the coolest thing ever. Monica insisted on a picture with the mobile bar, so when Peter asked the mobile bartender to take a picture of the two of them, she turned to Peter and said "You have a good one there, with nice curves and looks like alot of fun" as she turned and pointed to Monica. Monica was speechless and Peter chuckled.....The mobile bartender was trying to pick Monica up! The reason this is funny is because the mobile bartender was a WOMAN! Oh yeah my wife gets hit on even by butch looking west indian girls!
I heart the mobile bar!!!
