Bed Bath and Beyond Shopping Spree

So, you all heard about our Best Buy experience! Now I'll tell you about the fun time we had at Bed, Bath and Beyond. We arrived to the store, printed out our registry, and went at it! It was so much fun and we seriously can't wait to be able to make each and every one of you delicious dishes, outstanding desserts, share wonderful wine and host great "themed events". We decided to take pictures with most of the stuff we were able to purchase (once again, thanks to all your generosity) and show you that our dinning room is almost complete. The funny part is that we realized our dinner table is extremely small for the amount of friends and family we hope to accomodate LOL! We also wanted to share with you the events of our 2 week anniversary. Friday is our pizza night....which means Peter goes to Sam's club to see Tiffany. You might be wondering who Tiffany is....Tiffany is Pete's Pizza girl, she makes our pizza just the way we like it. Yes..we love Sam's pizza and all of you should definetely try it. We finished our day by having desert at TCBY and then going to this little sports bar/pizzeria to watch the Magic vs Celtics game. Saturday was the day we went to Columbus (recall the best buy story) we also went and had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings, had dinner at a wonderful sushi place and then came back and had a coctail at this "must go" place in Albany known as the Catch. Funny things about these events were that we took pictures at each of these locations, which magically disappeared from our camera and we also realized that The Catch Restaurant was really not a "must go" place. To conclude this Memorial day weekend, we decided to grill burgers and make Margaritas on Monday. After a few glasses we decided to walk to the YMCA pool! The pool was 4.5 miles away, thats about 9 miles to go and come back. When we got there, Peter decided to go on the diving board.....I do not need to say anything about this, just look at the picture! (He is def like 25 years older than all the other people in line!)
So the moral of the story: Albany is boring, Margaritas make you make dumb choices and don't go on the diving boards of YMCAs.

A broom and the salt bottle

So we finally moved this weekend! How is it that we still have so much crap??? The move is really what inspired this blog story. I've been with Monica for some years now and during those years, we have had MANY moves, so I still don't now how Monica's superstitious "Colombian" beliefs still amuse me! According to Monica's family, when one moves, they leave behind the old broom and the bottle of salt. The reason is because you leave the bad luck from the old home (symbolized by the broom and salt bottle) and you buy new ones representing the good luck that will come in the new home. The funny part is that I can probably write a book regarding Monica and her family's superstitions (spiders, flies, pearls, dolls, glass breaking, the list goes on and on, but those other stories will be for future blogs). For now let's focus on the broom and the salt. It was our first night in the new place, monIca and I decided to grill out in celebration for a ha...

Gain or no Gain

So quick funny story.... It might be one of those "you had to be there stories" but I will try since it caused a lot of laughter for us. Last sunday we were at Sam's club buying our monthly stuff. We knew we needed detergent so we went to the cleaning aisle and looked for the gain detergent that we have been buying for many months now. It was such a great deal, we would get 133 onz for a little over 9 dollars. That's many many many loads of laundry. So as we walked down the aisle, I realized Peter had overlooked our great "gain" bottle. I yelled down the aisle "Pete it's right here, this is the one". Peter turns and smiles, holding in the laughter. He then said, well....now I know why our detergent has been sooooooo inexpensive. He then continued by saying, look at the bottle a little closer. We had been using the same bottle for such a long time now that I felt I knew every color, every letter, felt like a could describe the handle...
