Memorial Day

Well we hope everyone had a fantastic three day weekend. We kicked our Monday off with making some delicious burgers on the grill for breakfest. Monica had turkey burgers and I had real meat burgers. We dressed them with fresh slices of avocado, tomatoes, and topped them with salsa and shredded chedder cheese. A true Mexican burger (ha). So to go along with our Mexican themed breakfest we decided to mix up a batch of frozen margarita's with our new margarita maker, mix and glasses. After enjoying all those treats we decided to do a little exercising and take a four mile hike to the YMCA pool. Of course on hour later and feeling normal again it was time to brave the kid infested pool. Took a quick dip and I was about 25 years older than any of the other kids standing in line for the diving board. Monica sat on the side of the pool, camera in hand and laughing the whole time. After a few photos it was time to make the journey back home. This time we did it in half the time...

APPLE......NOT!!!!

We want to start this blog by thanking all of you for the wonderful gifts and giftcards. Without all your generosity and kindness, today's events would have not transpired. So again, thank you for all those wonderful wedding gifts. To continue with today's story... We wanted to use our giftcards and wedding money to purchase the remaining items of our registry. As you all know, we love food, we love to cook and host parties; therefore it has been very exciting to us to be able to get those "new toys" that will help in starting our new home. The problem is that in the tiny town we live at, there is no Bed, Bath and Beyond. The closest one is Columbus, GA, which is about 1 hr away. So this morning we got up and drove to Columbus in hopes to purchase some goodies. We also decided that we needed to purchase a new computer, specially because it would really help Monica in her new job and be a benefit for me in school. Our desktop computer no longer turns on and our l...

Honeymoon Part 3 "Sandals"

Well throughout the entire wedding week and honeymoon, Peter would let everyone know that we were either the bride and groom, or that we were "just married" ,in hopes of getting upgrades. Peter was successfull for the majority of the time, but when we got to the "Sandals" resort everything changed after about 5 seconds of arriving. The reason we no longer obtained any upgrades was because about 90% of those staying in the Sandals resort had just been married on May 15 and were also on the honeymoon, so no more upgrades for us. hahaha Sandals was so much fun! It was full of young, vibrant couples, who were ready to have some fun. There are 3 sandal properties on the island: The regency, the grande and the alycon. If you ever visit St. Lucia's Sandals resort, we would definetely recommend staying at the Regency. DO NOT stay at the Alycon (It sucked!). A few short stories about our time at Sandals 1. We met a few couples that week, but our favorite couple was ...

Honeymoon 2

The white beach, our room, and Dasheene! Dasheene is voted the best restaurant on the island and they did deserve it. We enjoyed fresh ceviche, king fish and black squid ink risotto, just to name a few. The only bad part about the restaurant was the wine list. Peter decided to order wine and decided to go for something neither him nor Monica had ever tasted. It was a chilean wine, which neither of us can remember the name, but what we do remember is that the following has never before happened; We actually left about half the bottle on the table because it was that terrible. We took a picture to proove it and to warn all you loved ones to never order this wine. Another interesting story about Dasheene is that many movie stars dine there. One in particular that is a regular, is Oprah, not that we are fans of her, but it was kind of interesting hearing the locals talk about her and how she comes in to the island in a huge yacht, just to dine at Dasheene. The moral of the story: Don't...

Honeymoon Part 1

St. Lucia This place is unbelievable, it is truly a paradise that is still undiscovered. Peter has been many places thuough out the world and he still described St. Lucia as one of themost magical places he has visited. Monica was a litle scared when she first realized that their hotel was located right in the middle of the two massive volcano mountains known as the Pitons but after arriving the island culture took over and all worries melted away. This is a place that is a MUST visit! The people are so friendly and genuine. The motto of the island is "No pressure, no problem" and that's exactly how you will feel. Everyone smiles and rends you to enjoy the beautiful day. We got to experience all parts of the island. We first started by going on a car ride along the mountains to the west side of the island, where our first hotel and the HUGE Pitons were located. It took us about 1.5 hours and Monica was so good at not feeling carsick! We arrived to Ladera Resort,...

And we are off.....

We did it! Yes, it's official Monica and Peter got married. After a great week full of laughs, fun and as always a little craziness; Monica and Peter have begun the beginning of their married life! Wow!!! We are off to St. Lucia where we will be staying a few days at The Ladera Resort www.ladera.com and then off to some traditional honeymoon fun at Sandals Grande. We will be returning home on Sunday May 23, so don't expect pictures till then ;) We wanted to send a special thanks to all of you who made it down to the "The DR", you made it truly unforgettable ! For those of you, who do not know, or are a little fuzzy on the details; we have moved.....AGAIN! We are trying to slowly get back home and Monica has accepted a promotion in Albany, GA. There is absolutely nothing to do here, but after this wedding we should only be working and saving.....ok and every so often escaping down to Tampa. Especially since Tampa/Orlando is only about 4 hours away. So watch out, becau...
