A day with the Mennite's

This blog is to notify all you loved ones, that Peter James Mennite, will receive the Engineering student of the year award. Words cannot explain how proud I am of him ! I really wanted to publically congratulate him in his success, outstanding grades and dedication. I am also excited that I will get to get dressed up and be a proud wife at the upcoming Awards ceremony. I promise to take pictures and be on my best behavior ;). I definetely see his analytical and logical side at home. For example, our techniques in loading the dishwasher are very different (see below and try to guess who was the loader in which picture) LOL! Congratulations Petey Moral of the story: Its the imperfections that at the end of the day make us smile, make us unique and make us love one another....even more!

Loved ones, We will be going to celebrate our 1 year anniversary to Tahiti, bora bora and moreea! We are counting down till our tahisian anniversary! As you know, we tend to make everything a huge deal and our anniversary would not be the exeption since it is def a big deal! Hi family and friends! I know I know we haven't been blogging lately but honesty there really was nothing going on...ok I'm lying, the truth is that we have had a million things going on! So last Saturday, we decided to go to the annual wing festival here in Albany! Those who know us well, know how much we love wings and more specifically know how many my wife could put down! Such a petite person and such a huge appetite lol! So we took cash out (enough to make sure we could truly taste each and every one of the vendors) and headed over to the fairgrounds! We were really excited when we were able to here the awesome band playing in the background! So we got some beers and went over to the first "wing vendor". To our surprise they had ran out of wings, however with a pleasant smile offered us a pulled pork sandwich! We looked at each other and I read Monica's mind, as I anticipated her saying "no thanks we aren't at the pulled pork festival" I smiled...

Halloween 2010 This year we decided to dress up as Alice in Wonderland characters, the mad hatter and the queen of hearts. I was very excited to do Peter's make up and even did a practice round to make sure I created the best work possible. Albany, GA is not a very big "halloween" celebrating place and although we had originally planned to go to Tampa, the final decision was just to stay home. Saturday morning we woke up early and went to complete a 5K. We later dressed up the dogs and waited for the trick or treaters, who came on Saturday instead of Sunday, because Sunday is extremely sacred day for this community. Peter and I also dressed up to greet the trick or treaters and then later that evening we went to a Mexican restaurant to have dinner and participate in the costume contest. Given the fact, that there is only 1 "costume rental" store, no Party City, no Spirit store, I figured our chances of winning were pretty high :). I was right, Peter won be...

There are so many interesting things about experiencing the "southern culture". Well, it could be the american culture, and I just don't know about it lol!!! We went to a pumpkin patch today! The place had huge pumpkins, sunflowers taller than me, home made ice cream, and tractors. We went on our first hayride, we ate boiled peanuts and picked out our pumpkins! It was so much fun. I think we are going back again with the boys (Jaxon Tyron and Monopoly Baxter) next weekend again. Please enjoy the pics of our first Hayride experience. My friend Lizzy turned 30 and for this milestone birthday she decided to celebrate the last weekend of her 20's at the Keys. So a good number of friends got together to celebrate this joyous occasion. The drive down was no fun (Thanks Bridget for driving! ;)), but once we got there it was very worth it!. I was very happy to be able to celebrate this occasion, see some good friends and also I was able to see my lovely parents. They drove down for the night and I got to hug my beautiful mommy. The only sad part was that Petey was not able to make it, but I took some good pictures to capture the moment. The weekend was full of good and unforgettable moments. We went bike riding through key west ..... yes you heard right, I drove a bike through streets. I was actually glad Peter was not there at that moment because he would of made me wear knee pads and a helmet. I played it cool and did not fall on my face...
