Wow! How does time fly. So much has happened since our last post but frankly we wouldn't even know where to start. So we will just press the refresh button and start you of from the most recent transpired events in our life. Peter has been doing well in his studies, its a bit harder than the good old community college LOL and Monica has kept busy so that the weeks go by as fast as possible. We would lie if we said it was all peaches and cream because truthfully being apart during the week has been hard for all the members of this family.
So why is the title of this post "true American Gypies" you might ask. Well if you know us well, you know that as sepearate individuals Peter and Monica have moved many, many, many times. When they became a couple, things did not change and the" tradition" of being unstable and moving constantly continued. We have basically moved every single year since we have been together. We definetely do not know what stability or consistency looks like. Although, we have embraced our gypsy lifestyle and enjoyed the good times that have come from being "travellers", we have gotten to the point where we are tired of moving and have the desire to finally find the place where we will "settle down" and call home for many years to come (ok 5 years would be a great starting point). This brings us up to the recent events that have transpired in the last month or so, that will hopefully get us one step close to saying goodbye to our gypsy lifestyle.
Monica was offered a position working for a hearing aid manufacturer as a business development consultant/trainer. This job offer came at the most perfect time because not only will she be able to join Petey in Atlanta but she will also be able to live anywhere in the USA. Which means that when Pete graduates and accepts a job offer, she will not have to worry about a job ;) The job came right when our lease was up in Albany, our cable contract was up in Albany, Pete's lease was up in Atlanta, and the strong desire to find our stability was in discussion. The timing was simply perfect timing (which is uncommon for us LOL). We are looking forward to being together again, in a big city, with lots to do, friendly faces and Pete not having to drive back and forth (like 7 hours a week). So for all of our Atlanta friends, the Mennite's are coming to town!!!!
Albany has treated us well. We cannot complain, Monica has learned so much about the business of Audiology and we have grown together as a family. We made remarkable friendships and established relationships with some top notch individuals. We will miss the friendly slow pace atmosphere, the no traffic EVER, the cost of living and the southern hospitality. We will take our great experiences and wonderful memories with us as we start this new chapter of our lives. So thank you Albany Georgia for the good times!
The moral of this story is: Peter and Monica are one step closer to not being gypsies anymore!
