A day with the Mennite's

Once upon a time......just kidding! Yesterday June 18, 2010 Peter and Monica got re-married. Let me tell you the reasons that led to this event. We have been waiting for our DR marriage certificate for a month now and after many calls and e-mails down there, we have realized that the marriage certificate might take awhile. No big deal.....however, at Monica's work she is already known as Monica Mennite and her work license is still under Monica Mejia. So you can start imagining the conflict. Medicaid, medicare, etc were really giving the practice problems about the whole name issue. For all those smarty pants out there, a marriage certificate is needed to change your name and the catholic certificate does not suffice! The patient referrals were on hold until Monica filled out some paperwork and what name would she use. So this blog is dedicated to those who were not there last weekend and were missed. We went to Tampa, FL, stayed with the Talmage sisters and had a wonderful weekend with some of our great friends. We also had the opportunity to meet a new friend whose name for now will be "Mr Topless Brunch" . We drove to Tampa on Friday after I got out of work, when we got there we drove directly to Byblios. Byblios is located right around the corner of our old Rubideux apartment. We met up with our wonderful friend Eric and enjoyed being submerged in culture and an amazing atmosphere. We then drove to R2 house for an amazing BBQ. For those who don't know, R2 is the nickname I gave to our friends and fabulous couple Rob and Rachele. We enjoyed great friends, good food, a few drinks and had a blast of a time. The only bad part was when the girls lost at a game of Scene it against the boys. (Thanks a lot Joe!!!). Wow!! I just wanted to take a minute and let everyone know how proud I am of my wife. She is the most unbelievable woman, how smart, driven, sexy and funny just amazes me everyday. I am the luckiest man alive all because of her (and our family of course). Also she has kicked some major butt in her first month at Albany ENT, best doctor ever. I wanted to take a moment to let everybody know how cute my wife is. We where trying to put the final touches on our home this weekend when I had to step out to the garage and get some more nails. When I was out side I heard my little wife pounding away to hang a sign. I thought that was funny since I knew we did not have anymore nails left in the house. But I said to myself o'well maybe she had one hidden. I always cringe a little when I hear her trying to hang items on the wall, usually means more work for me. But back to the story, so I walk in and Monica has this puzzled look on her face and I ask her whats up. She tells me that she hammered in the nail but it went in a little to far and it won't come out. No big deal I will take a look at it and pull it out a little. I as get closer to the wall I notice a little cross on the head of the nail. Yep you guessed it she unknowing to her she used a phillips head screw to hammer in, ha ha ha. Most of you know that Peter's sister was expecting and on May 14, 2010 Avery Claire was born. We wanted to share pictures of our new niece with all of you. She and Maddie are just too cute! Monica and I are very happy for Avery's addition to the family. We love you Porter's.

So, you all heard about our Best Buy experience! Now I'll tell you about the fun time we had at Bed, Bath and Beyond. We arrived to the store, printed out our registry, and went at it! It was so much fun and we seriously can't wait to be able to make each and every one of you delicious dishes, outstanding desserts, share wonderful wine and host great "themed events". We decided to take pictures with most of the stuff we were able to purchase (once again, thanks to all your generosity) and show you that our dinning room is almost complete. The funny part is that we realized our dinner table is extremely small for the amount of friends and family we hope to accomodate LOL! We also wanted to share with you the events of our 2 week anniversary. Friday is our pizza night....which means Peter goes to Sam's club to see Tiffany. You might be wondering who Tiffany is....Tiffany is Pete's Pizza girl, she makes our pizza just the way we like it. Yes..we love Sam...
